Robert Burns Illustration

Our flagship product the Robert Burns pocket diary, first published in 2000, is the only one of its kind in the world. It has 32 added printed pages which focus on a different aspect of the poet's life so that our readers can absorb new and interesting information about the poet each year. The 2018 edition analyses the influence of Robert Burns in Russia and shows evidence of his fame in that country since the early part of the 1800s. In particular, we focus on Samuil Marshak whose talented translations of Burns made the poet a household name in Russia in the 1900s. The Soviet government rated Burns so highly that it funded a series of books of the poet's works in Russian that reached an audience of millions of people across the entire Soviet Union territory.
